Blackberry with Almonds and Rum

My favorite, simple and easy to make

  • 3.5 lb blackberries
  • 25 oz. jam sugar
  • 4 oz. almonds (peeled and chopped)
  • 10 fl. oz. Rum

1. Bring the berries to a boil (add no water) in a large pot

2. Let it simmer for 10 minutes

3. Add jam sugar

4. Turn the heat up a little – stir, stir, stir

5. When all the sugar is melted remove the pot from the heat.

6. Add the almonds and rum

7. Pour into clean jars and put the lids on.

8. Store in refrigerator or a cool place.

Let it sit for 2-4 weeks before using it.

Enjoy on pancakes or ice - you can also put it in cakes.
